Mold Development

When an existing bottle cannot deliver the shape, capacity, neck finish or brand detail you need, Jingbo Group can develop a dedicated mold around your product. Our in-house team turns your drawing, reference bottle, photo, sample or initial idea into an approved technical design, a finished mold and a trial glass bottle before bulk production.

different glass bottle shapes that require new bottle molds

—— Is a New Mold Necessary?

Change the Bottle Structure, Not Just the Decoration

If an existing bottle already has the right shape, capacity and neck finish, it can normally be customized through its closure and surface decoration. A new mold becomes necessary when the bottle structure itself needs to change.

When Do You Need a New Glass Bottle Mold?

A new glass bottle mold is needed when existing bottle shapes cannot meet your structure, capacity, branding, or long-term production requirements.

New Bottle Shape

Develop a round, square, angular, asymmetric or sculptural bottle instead of using a standard shape.

Embossed Details

Add a molded logo, name or pattern to the bottle body, shoulder or base.

الطاقة الاستيعابية

Adjust the height, width, capacity, weight or proportions around the product and packaging.

Custom Neck Finish

Develop a neck that fits the selected cork, glass stopper, screw cap or another closure.

—— Start With Your Reference

You Do Not Need a Finished Drawing to Begin

You can send us a technical drawing, bottle sample, reference photograph or simple sketch. If you only have an initial idea, tell us the intended product, target capacity, preferred closure, bottle dimensions and expected order quantity.

Jingbo Group prepares the bottle drawing and 3D design in-house. We check the dimensions, capacity, weight, neck finish, closure fit, embossed details and the areas needed for labeling or decoration.

—— Mold Development Process

From Your Bottle Idea to an Approved Glass Sample

Bottle design, technical drawings, mold machining and trial glass production are handled by Jingbo Group’s technical team and factory. Each stage is confirmed before the project moves forward.

01 Project Details

Send Your Bottle Information

Send a drawing, reference bottle, photo, sample or sketch. Include the target capacity, bottle size, neck finish and any molded logo or pattern.

A finished drawing is not required
02 Technical Review

Review the Bottle and Mold Design

We check the bottle shape, glass distribution, neck finish, mold opening direction and molded details. We then prepare the final drawing for your approval.

Typical Mold Time 7–15 Business Days
Mold Making

Make the Bottle Mold

After you approve the drawing and mold fee, our mold team starts machining. The schedule depends on the bottle size, mold structure and design details.

04 Mold Trial

Test and Adjust the Mold

We use the completed mold to make the first trial bottles. We check the shape, capacity, dimensions, weight, neck finish and mold seams. If needed, the mold is adjusted and tested again.

Mold + initial trial: 15–20 business days
05 Final Check

Confirm the Mold Result

We compare the trial result with the approved drawing. After the bottle shape, size, capacity and neck finish are confirmed, the mold is accepted and kept for future orders.

—— Cost, Quantity and Timing

Clear Tooling Cost, MOQ and Lead Time

The exact quotation is confirmed after our team reviews the bottle design and production requirements.

Typical Tooling Fee

Around USD 1,200

The final cost depends on the bottle size, mold configuration, structural complexity and embossed details.

The fee normally includes the technical drawing, 3D design, mold machining and the first round of undecorated glass samples.

Decoration sampling and international courier charges are calculated separately.

Typical Project MOQ

6,000–12,000 Bottles

The final MOQ depends on the bottle design, weight and production requirements. Small bottles usually require a higher quantity.

For some in-stock bottles that do not require a new mold, the MOQ may be as low as 3,000 units. Please contact us to confirm availability and the exact MOQ.

Typical Lead Time

15–20 Business Days

Mold machining normally requires 7–15 business days. The first undecorated sample is usually completed within a total of 15–20 business days.

These periods begin after final drawing approval and tooling payment. Decoration sampling may extend the schedule.

A formal tooling quotation, confirmed MOQ and project schedule are provided before mold machining begins.

—— Dedicated Mold Protection

Protect, Store or Take Ownership of Your Mold

A dedicated mold is developed for your bottle project and is not used for another customer. Jingbo Group can sign a confidentiality agreement to protect the bottle design and mold-development information.
